Empties: March 2014

Sunday, April 13, 2014

Only after a mere two weeks, I completed enough products to fill up an entire bag to talk about! Many of the deluxe samples I tried ended up being full size purchases during the Sephora VIB Rouge 15% Sale. Check out the video below to see my mini reviews of all the products I used up during the last half of march (aka since my Current Empties video).

Products Mentioned:

Candles
Bath & Body Works Wild Strawberry (discontinued)

2013 Favorites: Makeup & Nails

Thursday, January 30, 2014

2013 was a year that I discovered so many amazing products I know will be in my arsenal for years to come. This includes Burberry Cosmetics, a brand I got my paws into at the beginning of the year and immediately became obsessed. At the end of 2013, Marc Jacobs (specifically their blushes) really stood out to me and will certainly be a line that I'll be diving further into over 2014.Even though the video doesn't contain in depth reviews on these much loved products, it is a great way to get an understanding of who I am as a makeup junkie :)

Products Mentioned:

Foundations/BB Creams
Laura Mercier Artist Palette (limited edition)
MAC Turquatic

FOTD: Ox Blood Lashes

Wednesday, January 15, 2014

Today's look is on a slight twist to an easy every day eye. Over the last couple months this has become my go to look when I'm in need of something flattering, fresh, and work appropriate. The star of the show is YSL's Faux Cils Mascara in No.5 Deep Burgundy. This beautiful mascara not only lengthens and thickens, but gives a slight burgundy tint to lashes. As you can see form the photos below, from certain angles, the color can be seen.

As much as I love this luxury product, the focus is on the color, which can be found on the drugstore market as well. For dark brown eyes, I truly recommend trying this slight variation out. For the rest of the face, I used one of my favorite foundations, the Liole Triple the Solution BB Cream and the Maybeline Dream Lumi Concealer in Radiant under the eyes. As always, I set my under eye concealer with Laura Mercier's Secret Brightening Powder

I did a typical combination of neutrals on the eyes: Maybeline's Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze all as a base, Sigma Command all over the lid, Sigma Publicize on the brow bone and inner corner, and Urban Decay Tease in the crease. I also dusted a little of Sigma Surrender in the outer "V" of the eye. This little Sigma trio that you see above is a free gift with purchase that came with a brush set a couple years ago. I also lined my waterline and lower lash line with the Rimmel ScandalEyes in Brown.

After completing the eyelook, I went back to the face and set my foundation with Burberry's Sheer Powder in Porcelain No. 2, bronzed and contoured with Burberry's Warm Glow in Nude Glow No. 03, and highlighted with Dior Amber Diamond. Finally I dusted MAC's Lured to Love on the cheeks and MAC Viva Glam II on the lips.

Favorites: August 2013

Monday, September 9, 2013

Over the month of August I was fortunate enough to take a trip to Australia (travel post and haul coming soon)! Many of the products featured in my August Favorites came along for the ride as well. One of the star items is the Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Vitamin C Booster which I am so happy is now part of my everyday skincare routine. For more lip product recommendation and one new limited edition product by bareMinerals, check out the video below.

I promised that I would do some research on the rumors of the accessibility of Bioderma via Sears.com.  I come to you with good news! Sears Online is now carrying Bioderma Crealine TS H20 Micelle Solution, along with many other Bioderma products! I am so excited to get my hands into more Bioderma products to test out and report back to you guys. Definitely leave comments below of your favorite Bioderma products. Get Ready With Me # 2: Date Night

Tuesday, February 19, 2013

A soft look for an evening out with your boo.

This video shows not only how I like to get ready for a date night, but also how I like to use pink eyeshadows. A color that many times can make you look sickly, I like to use the warm toned pinks to create a soft and romantic look. In this look I used only the Bare Minerals Ready Eyeshadows that I am absolutely in love with. I used both the Star Treatment Palette (that I picked up around the holidays) and the Next Big Thing Quad (from the most recent collection). With a little black eyeliner and a pink lip, this look is not too bold so that your date won't be looking at your makeup all night long.

Jemma Kidd Mineral Skin Nourishing Tint SPF 20 in 02 Cameo

Empties: December 2012

Monday, January 21, 2013

Another month, another empties video. Because of the move and the traveling over the holidays, December was full of finishing sample and travel sizes. I found a few new interesting products and also finished up some old favorites.

In the video I make three mistakes that I would like to mention. The first is the Koh Gen Do Cleansing Water. I say that the size I have finished up is the biggest available, but that is not the case. A very large size is available at sephora.com (which I will soon be picking up). The second, is that the Nivea deodorant that I used up is not available in the US. However, as you can see in the link below, it is available online. I would not however recommend it. Finally, I said that The Enchanter Bath Bomb is limited edition, wrong again (see the link below).

As far as the discontinued Kiehl's scrub, I was able to go around to a few Kiehl's locations and ask if they had any leftover in the back (I was able to get one more backup). I suggest doing that if that is also one of your favorite products. Even with all the addendums to the video, I hope you guys still enjoyed!

Holiday Gift Guide 2012: Beauty

Monday, January 7, 2013

I thought I would share some ideas for gifts this holiday season. I've split up the videos into categories: beauty, fashion, and everything else. In each category I try to have a range of costs and types of items for an assortment of people. The first installment is beauty, from perfume to prepackaged holiday kits. Hopefully you find the video has an inspiration and idea generator for what to buy this holiday season.

Favorites: October 2012

Monday, January 7, 2013

Colder weather, paler skin, and nights spent doing face masks while staying in to study sums up my October. I had to change my foundation and adjust my skincare for the new climate. Cold nights in Colorado means blasting the heater and trying to manage dry patches. I sound so exciting.
