Evening Skincare Routine

Saturday, May 24, 2014

As a natural follow up to my morning skincare routine, I bring you my evening skincare routine. The video explains and shows you how I remove my makeup after a long day of work, cleanse, and nourish my skin. My skincare routine is very important to maintaining the health of my skin. Since my skin is so sensitive and acne-prone, if I skip even one night.morning of my routine, my skin will show it, via a break out or increased discoloration. Make sure to leave a comment telling me your favorite skincare products below! I hope you enjoy the video!

Morning Skincare Routine

Monday, May 19, 2014

A long awaited and much requested video, I bring you My Morning Skincare Routine. I love my skincare, there is no doubt about that, and in this video I give you mini reviews and show you how I use all my morning products. I also share a little on my philosophy behind my morning cleansing and moisturizing ritual. Do note, and proceed with caution, everyone's skin is different and may react differently to various ingredients and products. Something that works beautifully for me, can have adverse reactions on you. Thus, take advantage of samples and testers at your locals stores and counters. And always remember to patch test new skincare on a hard to see area on your neck/chin before going hog wild! Be sure to watch the video below to see how I start my day and the products that give me clear and hydrated skin!

Make sure to stay tuned for my evening skincare routine and a third part featuring sunscreens, exfoliants, and treatments.

I hope you guys enjoyed the video and be sure to subscribe to my youtube channel and follow my blog to see more!

Thanks!

Review: Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs & Rosewater

Tuesday, January 28, 2014

Sometimes I surprise myself when it comes to writing product reviews. Many times I think to first review products that are relatively new to me and ignore the products that, for lack of a better word, are "holy grail". However, one of my goals for 2014, at least when it comes to my blog and YouTube channel, is to bring richer content to my readers/viewers. One way that I interpret that is more reviews and mention of my tried and true products. Hence, I bring you today the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater.

Rosewater in general has become a favorite ingredient for my skin over the last couple years. Not only is it perfect for redness and irritated skin, but it also is a hydrating and refreshing ingredient for dry and dehydrated skin during these cold winter months. I have found that Mario Badescu's Rosewater blend has been one of the more staple and consistent products in my ever changing skincare routine.
As I've mentioned a few times before, I love to layer my skincare. Meaning, using multiple serums with my moisturizers to target specific skin concerns. Lately, this has included the layering of toners as well. For example, one of my concoctions begins with an exfoliating toner (like the Mario Badescu Glycolic Grapefruit Cleansing Lotion) and then the Rosewater Facial Spray is layered over it, creating the perfect balance of exfoliation and hydration. I could not be happier with my skincare routine (video coming shortly) and much of it has to do with this beautiful and inexpensive floral essence. Not only is it an integral part of my skincare routine, but it's perfect for spritzing all over my face (even over makeup) throughout the day to rehydrate after sitting in a heated office or to tend to my windburned cheeks. This delicately scented spray definitely gets my highest praises!

Hope you enjoyed!
Love,
Claire

Favorites: December 2013

Better late than never, a month of struggle to say the least. With a broken wrist and impending surgery it's been difficult to use certain products (i.e. cleansing oil) but I have found solace is trying out new products. Thus resulting in a few new favorites this month. Ones that really stood out were the L'Oreal Colour Riche Balm inTender Mauve and one of my favorite nudes, Bite Beauty Retsina.

Empties: November 2013

Tuesday, December 31, 2013

The last day of December and I'm posting my November Empties. I've become such a cliche bad blogger. But I promise, I will not apologize. Empty products and mini reviews are fun to read/watch regardless of when and how long it took to finish the product. Moving on, November was a month of finishing large quantities of key hair styling products while also getting rid of a few products that have been needing to move out of my collection. Products to be missed are the Bumble & bumble prep and the Mario Badescu Keratoplast Cleansing Lotion. Be sure to check out the video below to watch my mini reviews on all the products listed.

Favorites: November 2013

Saturday, December 14, 2013

Regardless of my blogposts being at a minimum, my love for cosmetics has not withered in the slightest. Attempting to handle a career, social life, relationship, and a blog/youtube channel has proven to be a challenge. However, I was able to get around to filming my November Favorites. I hope you enjoy hearing all about my current obsession with the Shiseido Perfect Refining Foundation. It's deep into December and I'm still obsessed. Be sure to watch the video below!

Laura Mercier Artist Palette

Favorites: September 2013

Monday, October 21, 2013

Today I bring you an incredibly late September Favorites. Regardless of the of the upload date, these products are all worth the attention. In the last year I've found myself being more interested and experimental with hair styling products. I continue to gravitate towards a minimalist routine and look, but I like to find that perfect combination of hairsprays, oils, and volumizers to give my hair that sexy, tousled, and effortless hair. Two high end products are worth discussion, one by Living Proof and the other, Bumble & Bumble.

In addition to some hair care finds, there are a few new additions to my skincare routine that are worth the mention. As my last review suggests, I am still loving the Mario Badescu Keratoplast Cleansing Lotion along with the accompanying face wash. Both amazing products for delicate, dry, and reddened skin (whether by couperose or rosacea). Definitely make sure to watch the video to get lengthier descriptions of all the products I was loving over the month of September!

Review: Mario Badescu Keratoplast Cleansing Lotion

Thursday, September 26, 2013

Toners were a part of my skincare routine that I was always indifferent about. However I have found myself over the last few years become completely addicted to trying out different ones that target various concerns. From hydration to cleansing and exfoliating, toners can be the key step in helping the penetration and effectiveness of the rest of your skincare routine. Today I bring you a new favorite from Mario Badescu focused on treating dry and irritated skin. The Keratoplast Cleansing Lotion also directly targets dilated and broken capillaries, resulting from skin conditions such as Couperose.

I suffer from Rosacea and dry skin on a good day. Most of the time I'm battling Acne, hives, milia, scars, and the list goes on. Regardless of the issue, if my skin is irritated, a few swipes of this with cotton pad post cleanse calms and soothes. A mild herbal smell accompanies the soothing sensation of this toner. If you are a fan of the Kiehl's Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-Free Toner, this is very similar and both are virtually the same price. Rather than cucumber and allantoin in Kiehl's toner, Mario Badescu combines bee pollen, aloe vera, and keratoplast to combat sensitive and reddened skin while strengthening weakened capillaries. So if you have dry, sensitive skin, or broken capillaries, check out Mario Badescu's Keratoplast Cleansing Lotion. I picked mine up from Nordstrom.

Hope you enjoyed!

Claire

Another month, another favorites video. This time around I had a lot more makeup bits than normal since I've been experimenting a bit more with different eye looks. I'm pretty settled in my skincare but there were still a few bits that I received as samples that really impressed me as well. Make sure to watch the video below to get a better and more detailed description of each product!
